The European Apparel and Textile Confederation (EURATEX) has formally submitted its primary policy recommendations for the new legislative term, underscoring the pressing need for a renewed EU Industrial Strategy for textiles. The confederation contends that while the EU Green Deal establishes ambitious environmental sustainability benchmarks, these mandates must be reinforced with substantial economic incentives and investment mechanisms to safeguard the global competitiveness of European textile manufacturers. EURATEX emphasizes the urgent necessity of streamlining bureaucratic regulatory burdens, reducing escalating industrial energy costs, and vigorously shielding the EU single market from non-compliant, substandard textile imports.
