Plastic-Free Room Concept in 5-Star Hotels: Natural Linen and Organic Cotton on the Rise
5-star hotels are transitioning from synthetic polyester to natural linen, bamboo, and organic cotton textiles to comply with green certifications and sustainability standards.
With the tightening of green hotel certification criteria, the reliance on synthetic polyester in hospitality textiles is rapidly being phased out. Multinational hotel chains are adopting 100% natural linen bedding, bamboo-blend bedspreads, and organic cotton bath linens to meet heightened guest satisfaction and corporate sustainability targets.
This transition is driving large-scale procurement programs across Mediterranean hotel renovation projects. Premium resort properties in Antalya and Muğla have launched competitive tenders ahead of the 2026 summer season to completely renew guest room textiles with pure, certified natural fibers.
