Data Verification and Methodology

Data reliability standard (E-E-A-T)

TRTex publishes tender, project, news and market data for the home textile industry together with its source. This page explains where the data comes from and the rules under which it is published.

Core rules

  • Tender and project records link to the notice itself; news information taken from outside is given together with its source.
  • Content produced from TRTex’s own data (tender records, market series, company directory, trade fair calendar) and its own research has TRTex as its source.
  • No figure without a source is published; data whose current value cannot be retrieved is shown as empty.
  • News prepared with AI assistance carries the "TRTex AI" label (EU Artificial Intelligence Act 2024/1689, Article 50).

1. Data sources

Tender and project records are regularly scanned from the official notice portals of public bodies and institutions (for example EU TED, France’s BOAMP, Germany’s bund.de and the World Bank) and from announcements by institutions and companies.

  • Official tenders: a tender notice published by a public body or institution. The submission deadline is taken from the notice itself.
  • Project opportunities: investment and project announcements not yet put out to tender (hotels, hospitals, housing, etc.). The source is the institution’s or company’s own announcement.

2. Publication rules

A tender or project record is published only if it meets all of the following conditions. A record that does not meet them, or is doubtful, is not published.

  • The source link points to the notice itself; a portal’s home page does not count as a source.
  • The subject belongs to home textile product groups: curtains and sun protection, upholstery fabric and seating upholstery, bed, bath and table textiles, carpets. Apparel and workwear are out of scope.
  • A second record of the same notice is not shown separately; it is merged into a single record.
  • A notice whose submission deadline has passed is marked "closed".

3. Market data

Series on the Markets page and their sources:

  • Exchange rates: European Central Bank (via Frankfurter) and Exchange Rate API.
  • Cotton: International Monetary Fund (IMF) global price of cotton, monthly average (via FRED); the period is shown next to the value.
  • Other indicators: official FRED series of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis.

A series whose current value cannot be retrieved is shown as "—" and the old value is marked "stale"; no estimated or invented value is printed.

4. What do the tender badges mean?

  • VERIFIED SOURCE: The record was taken from an official public procurement portal (for example TED, BOAMP, bund.de, Contracts Finder, SAM.gov, UNGM, the World Bank) and links to the original notice. The badge confirms where the notice comes from; TRTex does not endorse its content or the buyer.
  • SIGNAL: The record comes from a source other than an official portal (industry news, a project or an organisation announcement). Confirm the official notice through the buyer’s own channel before you bid.

5. Reporting errors

If you see an incorrect or outdated record, write to us via the contact page.
