What does “100 % acrylic” on a carpet mean?
Fibres and composition
Short answer
Only textile products made exclusively of one fibre may be labelled “100 %”, “pure” or “all”; a “100 % acrylic” label therefore states that the fibre is acrylic only. Under the Turkish regulation, extraneous fibres of not more than 2 % by weight are tolerated if they are technically unavoidable in good manufacturing practice and not added routinely.
Only textile products exclusively composed of the same fibre may be labelled or marked as ‘100 %’, ‘pure’ or ‘all’.
