The code is found by identifying the heading that matches the product. Under general rule 1 for the interpretation of the Combined Nomenclature, the titles of sections, chapters and sub-chapters are for ease of reference only; for legal purposes, classification is determined by the terms of the headings and the relevant section or chapter notes. In Türkiye, General Customs Communiqué (Tariff) No. 11 was issued to ensure the correct application of GTİP numbers.
