Tracks and Poles

Tracks and poles are the load-bearing hardware on which a curtain hangs and moves. A track is an aluminium or PVC profile with gliders or wheeled carriers running inside it; single, double and triple-channel versions carry the drape, the sheer and a third layer on the same line. A pole is a visible tube or profile on which rings or channel carriers travel, and it is chosen as part of the decor. Mounting is to the ceiling or wall; when used on the same window as a mechanical blind, the track sits in front of the mechanical product on the topmost line of the wall band above the window. Track length, number of channels, load capacity, corner bends and motor compatibility are written in the quotation; the curtain is measured from the track mounting line. In public procurement curtain rails and hangings have their own codes, separate from curtains: CPV 44115810 (curtain rails and hangings) and CPV 44115811 (curtain rails); they may also be requested in the same tender as the curtains.
