Towels

A towel is a bath or kitchen textile woven with loops (pile) on its surface to absorb water, in cotton or a blend. In terry weaving the ground yarn carries the cloth and the pile yarn forms the loops; loop height, yarn twist and weave density determine absorbency and hand. Cotton, bamboo and modal are the most common fibres; bathrobes, beach towels, hand and face towels, bath towels and bath mats belong to the same weaving family.
